The Singer Porsche 911

We are big fans of Porsche 911’s here at Shiftlight. We are also big fans of modifying classic cars. At first glance the Singer looks like an early 70s Porsche, but it’s actually based on the 964 which was available between 1989 and 1994. Porsche claimed it was 85% new compared with the previous incarnation. Knowing that fact, makes it more impressive.

Yes, I know you want to see it blatting around a track. Here’s “Mr Slowly”, James May..

Roadkill. The best internet car show bar none.

Forget about Clarkson, Hammond and May. This is the best car show on the internet.

I can’t remember how I stumbled across Roadkill, but I’m glad I did. For those who have never seen it, it airs on YouTube every fourth Friday (although this is changing soon due to its popularity).

It’s presented by Hotrod magazine’s David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan who make everything they do look so easy. On the first episode I saw, they went to a scrapyard, bought a Plymough Barracuda, got it running then took it drag racing.

To ease you in, here’s an episode with a good old English car. But beware, once you’ve watch it, you’ll have to watch them all.
